Founded in 2009, Indiana Micro is located in the Purdue University Research Park in West Lafayette, IN. Indiana Micro maintains cooperative R&D relationships with Purdue and several other universities throughout the United States. Indiana Micro’s customers include the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), NASA, and several major defense prime contractors.

Eric E. Hoppenjans
Systems Engineering
Mr. Hoppenjans has worked on systems such as XM satellite radio, GaN MMIC packaging, and state of the art tunable filters. He has also taught fundamental electrical engineering technology courses as well as advanced courses on RF and Microwave electronic design and analysis. Previously, he was a hardware engineer for Teradyne Telecommunications where he helped develop automatic diagnostic solutions for twisted pair telephone cables. His research has focused on advanced packaging technologies for RF and microwave systems in both polymer and LTCC based substrates. He has coauthored one journal article and authored four conference papers in the area of advanced packaging.
Mr. Hoppenjans earned his BSEET and MSEET degrees from Purdue University. As a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical & Computer Engineering at Purdue, he worked under the direction of Dr. William Chappell in the IDEAS Microwave Research Laboratory. He is a named inventor on one US patent.
Steven J. Cuppy
Business Development
Mr. Cuppy worked for AT&T Bell Laboratories, Lucent Technologies and AirTouch International (now Vodafone), primarily in the field of switching and wireless communications. He co-founded and grew Criterion Wireless Corp., a company specializing in measuring market share statistics for wireless service providers. Criterion was subsequently acquired. Most recently, he served as the president of an aviation company, where he managed the company’s operations and its transition after the death of the sole owner.
Mr. Cuppy earned BSEE and MSEE degrees from Purdue University and an MBA from the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD) in Fontainebleau, France. He has lived in Japan and France and is a co-inventor on two US patents.
Michael J. McPheters
Business Development
Mr. McPheters has worked for AT&T Bell Laboratories and Lucent Technologies. His background includes extensive experience in the areas of standards management, systems engineering, project management, software development, eLearning and management of customer and vendor interfaces. With experience in the telecommunications, testing, education, and real estate industries, Mr. McPheters' entrepreneur drive led him from the large corporate environment to various positions working with the principals of small companies in roles ranging from COO to Marketing/Business Development Manager.
Mr. McPheters holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology, MS in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University.
